Work woes

Wow what a day at work today. Pam got axed. So now I'm the only person who actually has a job working at the front desk. Its crazy. Lets see... the place is open 6am-9pm. I hope people can help cover the shifts. I am really worried about doing the job by myself next week. It is not a one person job by any possible means. The new office manager will be here a week from this coming Tuesday. Until then I have to be alone and try to figure out how to do a lot of the things Pam did and pick up on stuff where she left off. Oy. I'm glad its the weekend so I can relax for a couple days before all this begins. I really hope my 6-3 shift doesn't get disrupted and I reeeeally hope I don't have to work Saturdays at all. Guess I just have to go for it and hope it isn't too much for me to handle.

Ch ch ch ch changes

Everything is changing at work. Pam is moving to nights, the night people have been let go, a new office manager is coming in, new therapists are being interviewed, one main therapist will now be splitting days between two of our locations, building changes are happening, a new MRI machine will be installed which means knocking out 2 of our 5 privacy rooms, many more doctors are coming which means a ton more people will be coming in and out all day, no room for the doctors which means they'll probably be knocking out some of the back offices for space, the gym will lose out by all this expanding for doctors, much confusion, many secrets, weird overall. I think the management just do things without really thinking it out all the way. Is this a doctor's office, a physical therapy office, or a gym? I don't know but somehow they are trying to fit it all into one little place. The one good thing out of all of this is that I managed to keep my nice 6-3 shift (much to Pam's dismay). But with Pam working opposite of me, our whole system and flow that we had working together will be gone and everything will be changed and different. This new person will get to choose how everything is done according to her own wants. It'll be a very interesting summer starting right now.

In other news, my parents will be coming here for Christmas! That will be good.

Disneyland

Rob and I spontaneously went to Disneyland today. Not sure why but it was fun. We went on many rides. It was hot and very crowded. We made good use of the fast passes which let us skip to the front of the line for Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, and Buzz Lightyear. The longest wait was about an hour for Splash Mountain which got us soaked. The most annoying thing was all the millions of strollers and wheelchairs. They were absolutely everywhere. And with it being as crowded as it was, they take up so much room, go very slow and expect you to move out of the way for them. One stroller tripped Rob from behind and he almost fell. We also saw a young girl get her foot caught under one of those automatic scooter wheelchair things and she was crying out and they couldn't free her foot very quickly. Dumb. But anyway it was a good time despite that. The parade there is really neat too. I forgot to put on sunscreen so my shoulders got very sunburnt. I'm sure it won't feel to pleasant tomorrow. See the pic below. Obvious tank top sunburn line. Ouch.

Results

The results from my previous post are in. The actual temperatures were as follows: 82,80,80,85,88,85,89,83. I would say accuweather.com won this time.
In other news, my work was on the news the other day. They did a story about certain kinds of workout gear. Neat to see my place and people I work with on TV.

Bored

I'm here at work and I'm bored so I'm writing a blog. Though I can't think of anything to talk about. Hmm..... It's been hot out lately. I like that. The other day there was a tv show being shot right outside our apartment building. A big idling truck sat right outside our bedroom window until late in the night. That is all. Bye!

Oh, I just found something to post on. I was looking at the weather forcast for Burbank. According to weather.com, the future week starting with tomorrow looks like this: 81,77,75,77,79,83,82,81,80. BUT according to accuweather.com, the future week looks like this: 82,80,80,84 88,89,92,95,95. So what'll it be on Wednesday 79 or 88? And next Sunday could be either 80 or 95 degrees. Thats quite a difference. Which site is right? The warm but comfy temps or the very hot temps?

Morning and Stuff

Sometimes I dislike having to wake up at 4:35am. It is not because I want to sleep more but because often I wake up around 4am and then can't get back to sleep knowing that it is soon time to get up. It is very very rare that I need my alarm to wake me up. I just hate that half hour (or more) that I lay there before I actually have to get up but I can't sleep. Still I wouldn't give up my work hours for anything. I love my 5:45 - 3 shift. Actually it begins at 6 but I'm always there at 5:45 because people get there early and I have to open.
On another topic, the Anaheim Ducks won the Stanley Cup. On the news this morning, there was just a segment showing some fans. Then it was forgotten. It is so funny how not many people care about it here when in Buffalo, it was everything. People here are much more interested in Paris Hilton getting out of jail after 3 days. (which I actually find really rotty. She got a 45 day sentence knocked down to 23 and now she's out in 3 days. I say she should have served her time)

Update: Paris Hilton agreed to increasing her jail stay back up to 45 days except she has to be confined to her home and may not leave for all those days. Ohhh poooooorrr Paris. She's confined to her million dollar mansion. Ugh.

Catalina Island

For our anniversary, Rob and I went to Catalina Island. It was fun. Rather than writing about it all here, I made a photo album with captions. So be sure to read the captions (and sub-captions below them) There are a good number of pictures so make sure you have time to view them. Let me know what you think!

1 Year Anniversary

Today is our 1 year anniversary. Already a whole year! Thanks to all who sent cards. Too bad we can't eat the saved part of our wedding cake (as is traditionally done with many people) because it is in NY and we couldn't get it out here. Rob and I took a long weekend trip to Catalina Island. I won't talk about that here yet though. I took a bunch of pictures so I have to put that together. Look for another post here real soon with that. Bye!
