Illusion

I posted this picture on my blog once a while ago but I thought I would again because I like it.

Are the A block and B block different colors? (Of course the answer is NO or it wouldn't be an illusion.) The gray in block A is the same as block B. I even cut and pasted it into a paint program to make sure.

Memory foam

My shoulder was always hurting while sleeping and would be really sore the next day. It was going on for a while so I decided to get a memory foam mattress topper. Its 3 inches and I put it on top of another smaller mattress topper that was already there. It also came with a small memory foam pillow. It is really nice. I've had it for 4 days now and only one of those days did I have a sore shoulder while sleeping. So I am glad.
Yesterday Rob and I were going to go to a film festival to see The Dukes that Rob worked on. However, we didn't get the tickets that we thought were coming to us so we couldn't go. Guess I just have to wait until it comes out in theaters or dvd to see it.

News coverage

The Virgina Tech shooting thing has been being covered on the news (cnn, foxnews, msnbc) 24/7 for the last 4 days. Although they have finally stopped talking nonstop about it, they are still making it a huge majority of their newscast. The thing I've been seeing recently on the news is all about the copycats. Several schools have received threats, letters and calls that predicted a shooting or bombing at their school. One high school in southern CA cancelled all classes because it was receiving huge threats and some kid stole a whole bunch of guns. I can't blame them for closing. It is the anniversary of the Columbine shooting and the Oklahoma City bombing. (and its 4/20 "national pot smoking day" if that makes any difference). My point of all this is that the constant coverage and now that NBC decided to show those videos of Cho to the public, other kids who may have been teetering on the edge of doing something horrible themselves may just get that little push they need by seeing all of this. By NBC allowing the videos to be shown, they are letting Cho win. Cho mailed the stuff with the plan of having everyone in America seeing it. He could then think he was a martyr and die happy. Well, there are many other very disturbed kids out there that may think 'yeah I want to be a martyr too and get my word out to everyone via news'. The fact that several schools have recieved threats this past week shows its not impossible.

Taxes due

Taxes are due today. I was watching the news of all these people standing in super long lines and others still sitting there working on them. I ask why!? They had so much time to do them. What were they doing 2, 3, 4 weeks ago that made all those people not just get them done then? And why wait until the very last possible day? Not 2 days before, but the LAST day. I'll never get it. If you reading this are one of those people, I'd love to hear your reasoning. Ha I sound so bitter don't I? I'm not, I'm just curious.
On another topic, my computer is running nicely with the new windows system. I like it. Now I have to load all my stuff on it again.

Windows Vista

We installed Windows Vista on my computer yesterday. Theres a bunch of new stuff and some new ways to navigate that I have to figure out but so far it seems neat. The only problem I have so far is that I can't get it to recognize my graphics card.

Hi

How was your Easter? I just went to church and stayed home the rest of the day. Mom put the webcam on at her house. She just left it on and I got to observe the party from the same viewpoint the whole time. So it was like I got to be there with all the relatives in a way. Not the ideal way to celebrate Easter but still better than nothing.

Boring weekend

Rob left for Buffalo early this morning. He'll be back next week. What a boring weekend it'll be being stuck here alone. But its nice that he gets to spend Easter with his family. Hmm. Not much else to update you on. Bye!
