Random post

The olympics are over. I liked watching them even though I like the winter olympics better. Did you watch? What'd you think?
On another random topic, if you are a cereal eater, buy the bagged cereal. You get so much more for your money and they are coming out with many more flavors now too. That's it. Just wanted to post a random post.

Hummingbirds

Monday was 88 degrees. That was the first time we've had temperatures that were below 90 since July 29th. Quite warm. Here's a picture of my mother in law's hummingbird feeder. There's always so many there.... 7 to 8 at a time!

Invisible

Ok, I understand the concept. BUT... if they can indeed do this and create some sort of material that doesn't reflect or scatter light, would we really be able to see what is beyond the invisible thing? I mean, the thing that they made invisible still does exist...it is still an object... so how could you see right through it? And if it neither reflects nor absorbs light, where does that light go that hits the material? Quite the mind boggler.

Les Miserables

We went to see Les Miserables at the Hollywood Bowl last Friday. It was well done and the actors were all very good. The orchestra was right there on the stage. There was no big barricade or spinning stage but other than that, it was performed like a stage performance would be performed. Rosie O'Donnell was supposed to play Mme. Thenardier but she backed out which is too bad. She would have been good in that role. The thing that really bugged me was how much they cut out of the show. Songs were cut short and they left out parts that I felt were crucial to the story plot. I wondered if I didn't know the story already, would it be easy to follow? I'm sure people were confused with some of the storylines because of all the cuts.

It took an hour and a half to get home from work today. Worst traffic I've seen in a long time. Yuck.
