Lottery

The California lottery is up to 270,000,000. That's pretty nice. I probably won't bother buying a ticket though.

Ok I did. Actually I got everyone at my workplace to go in on it. So as of right now we have a 16 in 175,711,536 chance of winning the big jackpot. Woo!

It's better than no chance. Remember, I know someone that won.....40 million. He only bought 1 ticket and is now on easy street. He bought the ticket on a whim, stopping at the store to buy a can of cat food. And YOU have a cat, so........from DAD

That guy you knew only got 13 something million, right? A couple other people won too and they had to split it. Now he has disappeared, but hopefully he's pampering that cat.

That cats probably stuffed with the stub of the ticket in it's mouth, mounted to a gold base, and sitting on the mantel over the fireplace in their living room. DAD

Well the drawing came last night. I had 32 games but none won the big jackpot. The most I got was two numbers right. However, according to this site, http://www.calottery.com/Games/MegaMillions/HowToPlay/ If you get none of the 5 and only the Mega powerball, you win something. And that did indeed happen with one of the games on my ticket. I wonder how much that is. Since we collected $27 at work, I'd be surprised if the prize is enough for everyone to get their money back.

My co-worker bought a ticket and the first 3 out of 5 numbers were a perfect match. He got all excited and then learned that this won him only 7 dollars. Which he then said he'd use to buy 7 more tickets. Hah!
